Kanye West debuts womenswear line at Paris Fashion Week
The music and fashion worlds collided tonight in France as Chicago native/hip-hop artist Kanye West premiered his own clothing line during Paris Fashion Week. The rapper-turned-designer payed homage to his mother, the late Donda West with his womenswear collection “Dw by Kanye West.
We here at Seven Halos are impressed, though not surprised since Kanye has been at the forefront of fashion for just about as long as his music career. And, he has been rather vocal about his appreciation for the female body and the apparel that adorns it.
Seated front row included Ciara, Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen, Lindsay Lohan, Mr Hudson, Sky Ferreira, Carine Roitfeld, Anna Wintour, Hamish Bowles, Jared Leto, Terry Richardson, Designers Joseph Altuzarra, Dean and Dan Caton of Dsquared, Alexander Wang & Jeremy Scott.
Chanel Iman closed the show with Anja Rubik, Karlie Kloss and Jourdan Dunn also walking down the runway to songs by the Fugees, Waka Flocka Flame, and of course, West.
Giuseppe Zanotti designed the shoes specially for Kanye West.
