It is with great pleasure that I introduce a new addition to SevenHalos.com, 7H Cares. 7H Cares is about worthy causes and the people behind them, fighting to bring change however they can. In this installment I bring your attention to Matt To College.

With your help, Matthew Williams we be attending Cornell University this fall.

Not often do young, bright minds from underrepresented areas get the opportunity to escape the path typically followed and obtain higher education from top academic institutions, let alone Ivy League Universities. Matt To College is a site dedicated to propelling forward the dreams if a such a young man, Matthew Williams. Through many obstacles and adversities, Matthew has been a straight “A” student for his entire high school career. Where other teenagers may be discouraged when faced with hardships, Matthew continues to excel and exceed expectations.

Out of the dozens of universities that have accepted him, Matthew Williams, the subject behind Matt to College, has chosen Cornell University to be his future Alma Matter. Even though he will receive an academic scholarship, His sister, and sole caregiver, is still left with the related expenses of college (books, food, airfare to and from home, etc).

Your efforts will not go in vain and WILL BE PAID FORWARD. Matthew has already made efforts towards becoming a stand up leader in the community. During the school year, Matthew focused on academics, but found the time to tutor fellow students and grade school children as well as organize several blood drives. He has participated in many extra curricular activities including Chicago Urban League’s Young Entrepreneur program were he and several other outstanding young men won second place for their innovative start-up company
