Underwater subways in Amsterdam. Well, kinda.

Attn: Chicago, Boston, NYC, and any other US city with a subway system: Amsterdam wants to show you something.

Amsterdam based design duo, Million Dollar Design, took take a deep breath and gave a facelift to one of the 30-year-old “Silver Gulls” metro trains. The design team blended illustration, photography and fashion to create a dreamy, romantic, wonder-world with some dark and slightly rough accents. Mermaids swim, an octopus hides under an umbrella and a turtle takes you on a journey into the unknown.

The subway consists of two designs. One has a predominantly green color intended to remind passengers of the deep underwater, where strange little creatures are float around. The other, purple, suggest being closer to the surface, where small fish flirt with the sunlight in the water.
